✨ A Heartfelt Thank You ✨

Last Thursday evening was an extraordinary celebration of the intersection between the arts, leadership, and our shared responsibility for the planet. I’m deeply grateful to all who joined us for the launch of my poetry book, Whispers of Our Planet – your presence made the evening truly special.

A huge thank you to the Sydney Dance Company for graciously hosting us and to Rafael Bonachela for your beautiful speech that seamlessly connected the arts, leadership, and our care for the planet. It was an honour to have you with us and your words and personal journey deeply touched each one of us. The captivating dance performance moved our guests, highlighting the profound beauty that art can bring to conversations about the Earth. It was truly a highlight of the evening.

I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to Yvonne Weldon for your Welcome to Country and your speech. Your words were awe-inspiring and filled with depth and wisdom. Hearing you read one of my poems to the audience was a surreal and touching moment I will always remember. Thank you for contributing your voice and spirit to the evening in such a meaningful way.

Thank you to Ian Hutton for travelling all the way from Lord Howe Island to be with us. Your thoughtful foreword for the book and your powerful speech at the event were incredibly moving. As you said, “Art has the ability to reconnect us with Nature... The patterns and colours in a painting, the notes in a score, or the movements of a dance can remind us of childhood moments when we were attuned to the natural world. Well-chosen words in a poem can evoke stories and depth beyond their simple meanings.” Your thoughts on the role of art in connecting us to nature resonated deeply throughout the evening.

The evening was a true convergence of nature, leadership, and the arts, and I’m excited to continue this journey. 🌿
